The right way to travel, place by place
A car is not always the answer. Here is how the Planner travels in each destination.

| Cape Town and the Winelands | Porsche 911 Targa 4 | Range Rover | Traffic drives on the left. Chapman's Peak Drive is a toll road that can close in bad weather, so check its status before setting out. Use a driver on wine-tasting days. |
| Lake Como | Aston Martin DB12 Volante | Range Rover | Rewarding outside peak weekends: the western shore and the climbs into the hills. Leave the car parked on the days you spend on the water. |
| St. Moritz and the Engadin | Bentley Continental GT | Range Rover | Outstanding in summer and early autumn. In winter, drive only open passes on proper winter tyres and allow for conditions. |
| The Scottish Highlands | Range Rover | Land Rover Defender 110 | Many roads are single-track with passing places. Drive unhurriedly, pull in to let others pass, and allow more time than the map suggests. |
| Kyoto | Rail and a private driver | Rail and a private driver | Kyoto's streets are narrow and parking is scarce, and Japan requires an International Driving Permit. Rail, taxis and a private driver work far better. |
